Meet the Library Staff
Alison Jacoby, Librarian
Hello! I am the library teacher here at Linwood Elementary. The library is the “center” of the school in providing, valuing, exploring, researching, and conversing about information! Lions come to the library once a week for learning and book checkout. On Wednesdays, students have additional specials time while their classroom teachers attend professional development. Fourth and fifth graders have Clubs on Wednesdays, while third grade and younger students focus on STEM centers while in library.
Helping students develop a love for reading and books is the best part of my job! We work on research, library skills, digital citizenship, and much more! Read alouds are my favorite! I have been teaching for Wichita Public Schools since 2003, and joined the Linwood team in 2024.
Guide to Book Care
- Keep your books in a safe place.
- Return your books on time.
- Do not eat or drink while reading library books.
- Wash and dry your hands before reading library books.
- Keep books away from pets and little ones. They do not know how to take care of books!
- Never draw or write in a library book!
- Always use a bookmark!
- If the library book has been damaged, bring it to your librarian. They will repair it if they can. DO NOT REPAIR THE BOOK YOURSELF! Your librarian has the right tools and training to fix books.
- If you lose your book or it is damaged while in your care, you will need to pay to replace it. Talk to your librarian.
